Ask a better question.
Sometimes the next step starts with listening a little longer.
Curiosity opens the door.
When something is not working, it is easy to reach for the answer we already know. I have learned to pause and ask a different question: what am I missing? A difficult conversation, a business problem or a personal setback can look different when we make room for another perspective.
Listen beyond the first answer.
In business, some of the most useful ideas come from the people doing the work. Ask what they see. Ask what would help. Then listen long enough to understand the answer. Leadership is not having every solution; it is creating room for people to contribute.
Make the question practical.
A better question gives you something to do. What is one thing I can change today? Who could help me see this differently? What did this attempt teach me? You do not need certainty before you begin. You can act, learn and adjust.
