Personal Agency
Have you ever heard someone mention something called ‘Personal Agency?’
I recently heard it and it made me really curious to what that means. I would love to hear more people’s thoughts on what it means to them.
When you look up what Google says, it states that personal agency refers to an individual's ability to control their own behaviours and reactions to circumstances beyond their control, even if their actions are limited by someone or something else. Or simply one’s agency is one's independent capability or ability to act on one's will.
To me, personal agency is like holding the reins of my own life, steering it in the direction I want to go. It's about recognizing that I have the power to shape my own destiny, rather than letting life happen to me.
For me, personal agency is all about taking ownership of my decisions and actions. It's about realizing that I am in control of my own path and that every choice I make has an impact on my journey. Whether it's setting ambitious goals or navigating through tough times, I firmly believe that I have the ability to make things happen.
When I think about personal agency, I'm reminded of the quote, 'The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.' It's about having the confidence to pursue those dreams and the resilience to overcome any obstacles along the way.
But personal agency isn't just about individual success; it's also about recognizing the importance of community and support. I've learned that seeking advice and guidance from others can be incredibly valuable on this journey of self-discovery and growth.
If I am ever feeling stuck or unsure of where to go next, I try to remember that we all have the power within us to create the life we want.
“Embrace your personal agency, trust in your abilities, and let's embark on this journey together!"
